You are invited to go for a walk in the historical part of Plungė and to look for signs of progress from the interwar period, to see what kind of people created the town and lived there. Telšių street was once renamed to Smetonos street when the president of Lithuania Antanas Smetona arrived to the town on the first train on the newly opened railroad link in 1932. There were local Jewish shops and the main market, also called jomarkas. The Police and the Forestry Service buildings, train station and residential buildings tell us stories about different people who were active members of the community.
